Re: Lassonde Curve

I reckon most of us feel we are now on the second upward slope of Lassonde which we’ve been talking about for some time. What makes me think we are riding the second ascent is more to do with Telfer. The RNS this week and what it excluded gives every reason for the uplift in resource there to nudge...

Re: Our big vision - a question

We are about to enter the most thrilling period of GGP’s growth in my view, perhaps HAD005 and the buyout of Telfer are up there in company-defining periods. I’m not about to list the next set of company events as others have done that already. For many of us who have been here a while (since 2017 m...

Re: Our big vision - a question

hi Rotherby,

Probably worth starting a thread on this by itself so that it doesn’t get buried in here.
It’s an important topic and deserves its own spotlight as well as raising some salient questions which we could all do with knowing about

Re: Our big vision - a question

How interesting to hear Shaun today on Coffee with Samso. He was touching on some of the points we’ve been discussing in this thread and particularly the topic of other metals other than gold and copper. Tungsten is in his own words a significant asset of GGP and we haven’t really spoken of it much ...

Re: Our big vision - a question

Hydro, those thoughts of yours chime with questions I had in my mind as I slogged through today’s jog on a grey and damp winter’s day - “who else is in the Patterson and what will they mean to us”:so your graphic is very welcome. We’ve arrived at the same reflection about who GGP might be interested...

Re: Our big vision - a question

Droverman, I always enjoy your posts on LSE and your insightful post here really does bring a perspective. I hadn’t considered there is a finite amount of working but unloved mines and now the gold price going very well others may well join the fun of acquiring them. The NS model might be partially ...

Re: Our big vision - a question

Thaks Hydro, Redirons, Michael, Rotherby for the very valuable contributions. Yes, Shaun has the opportunity to burnish his growing reputation with continuing high quality leadership. And he’ll earn good references from Twiggy, Barnaba, Newmont, Gaines who will all be speaking warmly about him and h...

Re: Our big vision - a question

One other piece of information worth taking account of in terms of GGP’s long term aims/goals/vision is Shaun’s statement that he reset the clock of his time at GGp from year zero when Telfer was bought. It’s reasonable to expect that from Dec 2024 he has set himself and the company some 5 year expe...

Re: Our big vision - a question

All of which raises the very interesting reflection about what would have happened to GGP had we not bought the farm. We would see rising gold prices but couldn’t necessarily have found a route to paying for it without NEM. They would have canned Telfer and Hav would have been tossed on the waves of...

Re: Our big vision - a question

Thanks RA,
‘Aspires to be a profitable multi-mine’ company.
Very much a big tick for ‘profitable’ once the debts are paid, and then when Hav is a working mine a tick for that.
It’s certainly good enough for 18 months or so.

Re: Our big vision - a question

Hydrogen, I always get a boost from your data and analysis. I’m trying not to leap into numbers as they are compelling as you contend. It may well be a strategy of sorts which is why I refer to it as an interim strategy. Taking your invitation up to ‘step back’ the argument about being the Paterson ...

Re: Our big vision - a question

Leslie, So glad you see the value in this. In truth it was spurred on by the excitement about potential dividends which could only ever be speculative and based on what we think we know. I felt that was a fair topic for folk to raise though when, how much, and based on what was still unclear for me....

Strudel,
Your points are really helpful in lubricating the discussion, thank you, and there is much in those visionary thoughts that I was hoping we could bring to the light.

Re: Our big vision - a question

Hey Hydrogen, Appreciate your comment, have been out all day. I’m keen to know though if the strategy - beyond plans for the next 18 months and Hav coming online - is explicit enough yet for bigger investors to feel comfortable getting on board for a 5 year commitment. A strategy starts with a visio...

Our big vision - a question

It’s an intriguing strategic question. Does SD set out to be a) one of Oz’s top two - three mining companies by size based on what is known about a Telfer and Hav or b) grow to that size by discoveries, efficiency maximisation, and opportunistic decision making ? In a sense the decision to reach tha...

Town Hall notes to savour

Back now after taking a break from the boards in Nov and Dec. Don’t think I missed much! Browsing through my Town Hall notes I wanted to again share the words from our MD in case anyone is needing a positive start to this new year. ‘Hav is the 2nd largest underground gold project in Oz. #1 is De Gre...

Notes - Town Hall 24.9.24 Chatham House rules apply so in that spirit these are interpretations of what was said and can’t be relied upon either for accuracy, are deliberately not verbatim, and are not investment advice.
