Re: Flippin heck - So Tembo ditched Spartan Royalty for Greatland equity....?
Tembo Capital runs at least 6* different funds for its clients. The Spartan royalty was sold by Tembo Capital Mining Fund III. Without some evidence to support the idea that the same fund that sold the Spartan royalty was the purchaser of the GGP stake it is surely too great a s-t-r-e-t-c-h to link ...

The Money of Mine guys were spot on when they suggested that A$1.5bn of financing could be needed: A$750m of equity + A$750m of debt is what’s been announced.

Re: The HaveTelf purchase timeline
I’ve made two points in this thread: 1. That GGP has a 30% interest in the Hav JV as they have stated in various RNS and presentations, not 40% as was being wishfully surmised by posters here. 2. That SD didn’t really have much if any say in the outcome of the 5% saga, as he had inherited a very wea...

Re: The HaveTelf purchase timeline
You really can’t see the forest for the trees can you? An option price FAR lower than SD was looking for was determined, and NCM still refused to pay it. Your detailed points about cut-off dates and commodity prices are non sequiturs. If a later cutoff date and higher commodity prices etc had been u...

Re: The HaveTelf purchase timeline
Well Francis I would say totally out manoeuvring NCM over the 5% was pretty exceptional Independent valuer said “Price for the 5% is USD60m” NCM said “Nah - we’ll pass.” SD (like you!) thought the 5% was worth FAR more. But he wasn’t responsible for determining the valuation, nor for determining NC...

Re: The HaveTelf purchase timeline
None of us know that for sure or if they’ve spent the $20 mill so as far as I’m concerned it won’t hurt to ask! Yes Shaun won’t have missed it but at the same time answering shareholders concerns takes 5 mins and seeing as he’s said sweet fa to us for a while I think we have a right to ask You can’...

Re: The HaveTelf purchase timeline
There’s nothing contradictory. It’s perfectly clear. The expenditure requirement has been met so the additional 10% has been earned and the interests are 70/30, as SD has said many times and as per the text you’ve just shared.

Actually fairly old news Francis - Albeit only just being reported on Morningstar My Pal spoke to Ned a few months ago and they've actually been out now and for at least 2 months: ( As I reported earlier in another post elshwere ) - It appears the Jupiter gold and silver fund sold heavily into the ...

Re: The Power of ROFR (Rights of First Refusal) 💥💥💥
That’s a really interesting article. Thank you for sharing it here. As I pointed out recently it’s also possible that SD accepts the hard reality that the capital sums required here (including funding 100% of the project to completion) are out of reach for GGP, particularly if he wants to respect th...

Re: Newmont and Telfer (with Havieron)
I am sure that Havieron will be a successful mine over many decades. Less sure that existing GGP shareholders will be big beneficiaries. I could see how it could work when riding in the box seat with Newcrest, but the propositions under discussion here are a long way from that now. Thank you for the...

Re: Newmont and Telfer (with Havieron)
I’m going to risk advancing a less positive prognosis. GGP doesn’t have the upper hand in anything here. They bring nothing other than their 30% and their ROLR to the party and it’s not clear that is going to be enough to secure a winning outcome for existing shareholders. It’s very hard right now t...

Re: New Newmont strategy
The info from Hydrogen’s “good source” has turned out to be incorrect. The outcome described as “NO [effing] way - and I mean totally ZERO chance” is happening after all. I have it from a good source and Oz based mining friend: There will be No Newmont spin out of Telfer. You know what that means/im...

Re: Newmont and Telfer (with Havieron)
That’s an interesting post Rotherby. It’s likely there will be close regulatory attention to any sale of Telfer. Regulators will want a deeply capitalised company to backstop the potential environmental liabilities, which are hard to quantify and could stretch out over decades. I can’t see them lett...

Re: Legal & General NOW own 2.4%
Thanks for clarifying Francis So which is it? Did someone pick the stock or did a set of conditions pick it? It wasn't picked. A set of ESG-related conditions were met. Those conditions will have been set by LGIM's ESG team, NOT by a fund manager. The whole point of an index like this is that it DO...

Re: Legal & General NOW own 2.4%
Definitely good work by SD & team on the ESG front, as I pointed out in my first post. It's likely that GGP will pass other investment company ESG screens so could pop up in ESG portfolios elsewhere. LGIM should be a stable long term holder. However they are one of the largest and most active st...
