Re: Drilling Strategy cost overlooked

Some info on the types of drilling that has currently been stepped up with additional rigs deployed. Newmont had at one point I can recall, having 9 drill rigs operational , just on Havieron. So it is understandable that even more rigs will be even further deployed at Telfer, particularly as WDD can...

Re: Optimisation, optimisation, optimisation!

Takes from the conference call this morning are firstly, the seriousness of which the team are taking with high level plant and operational cost optimisations that have already and will be further carried out. Particular improvements to recovery protocols that will see A$100m extra in revenue per an...

Re: Telfer Mine Life - 20 years is being suggested ...?

Thank you for your insightful response shinybits, very helpful. So when Shaun spoke of being able to run one train at 120% supplied by both crushers it would appear to be then to just overcome the belt issue in the interim as it certainly implied a bottleneck pre milling exists or existed. So with t...

Re: Telfer Mine Life - 20 years is being suggested ...?

The grinding belt issue sheds some light now on what Shaun had previously stated that the crushers were only operating together at about 85% efficiency. Can’t be certain but certainly does point to a mechanical issue such as the belts that would cause that amount of inefficiency in the coarse grindi...

Re: Optimisation, optimisation, optimisation!

One of the main objectives of optimisation is to streamline all aspects of mining operations to drive up profitability, one of the areas to be targeted will be an ore sorter at or near to the mine face after primary crushing at Havieron to divert barren or material with no or little economic worth b...

Re: Optimisation, optimisation, optimisation!

Production scheduling is another one of the key areas they will evaluate and plan for, but goes largely unnoticed as much is not usually published externally, and will be ongoing beyond the release of the next Hav study and continue to be evaluated throughout mining operations. Basically, working ou...

Re: Optimisation, optimisation, optimisation!

One of the 4 main areas they will be looking at is the choice of plant. Drills, shovels, loaders etc. Electric or diesel powered. With a bulk ore handling solution, being a particular area they are focussing on for efficient extraction out of the mine. It makes sense that these would all require vali...

Re: Up there with the big boys!

Certainly a good endorsement to stand shoulder to shoulder with giants, can only help in gaining more exposure and traction for ASX. PR will go into overdrive, we haven’t seen anything yet!

Re: Transformed: The New Lens

Will certainly have a better forward financial projection from audited results once federal tax liabilities are known which will be 30% of taxable income. So is a chunk, plus company operating costs are better understood from the now enlarged group. Also to consider the base case CapEx estimate of U...

Re: Transformed: The New Lens

Hey folks my musings were not meant in any way negative or provocative. Company growth now will be dictated by managements approach but ultimately driven by revenue, rerating the share price will be the major function of that. Revenue is king. Immediate priorities lie with extending Telfer LOM with ...

Re: Transformed: The New Lens

Hey there CK,
Not sure I fully understand where you are coming from. Is it that you don’t trust Shaun? Or don’t trust what has been laid out in the admission document to be relied on regarding growth strategy?
Best, Guy

Re: Transformed: The New Lens

Hi jecsggp I’m more referring to their long term growth strategy that is based on 3 ‘horizons’. Until they achieve a level of success from their first, they would only concentrate on actively persuing the second horizon and subsequently then onto the third. Is generally what is meant with the ref to...

Re: Transformed: The New Lens

Just an observation, I do see the current upper management structure with the absence of an actual head of corporate development, being more tailored to focus growing the business on and around Telfer operations which is I think sensible strategy for greatland over next 3-5 years. GGP head of busine...

Re: Transformed: The New Lens

Meant to add, by getting tighter control of fixed costs will help toward realising higher free cash flow margin taking advantage of the higher forecasted gold price, which will in turn then be able to give far better financial projections.

Re: Transformed: The New Lens

Hi Hydro Economics are certainly not my strongest so I wouldn’t like to guess, but a tighter corporate structure would have overall impact on overheads, is a happier workforce now with morale being so important for efficient runnng. Just don’t see Shaun wanting to cull staff to trim some of the fat ...

Re: Transformed: The New Lens

A bit of clarity on production costs and AISC. These reported figures are estimated for guidance only and have not been externally audited so will be range bound. The US$1.454/oz quoted was based on the greatland base case 15 month mine plan estimated to process the 21.9Mt of Telfer inventory. The A...

Re: Optimisation, optimisation, optimisation!

Listening again to latest vidcast the reasoning behind the decision looking into a single mill processing train becomes more clear. The bottleneck causing both mills having been run at 85% efficiency when working together appears to be upstream from primary crushers. Milling tends to be the usual bo...

Re: Optimisation, optimisation, optimisation!

Appreciated that Hydro. Why the fuss some might think? We got this amazing high grade ore body, just get it built and let the cash roll in. But optimisation in UG mining is actually crucial due to the obvious complexities. They can and will interrogate 4 main areas, infrastructure layout, stope enve...

Optimisation, optimisation, optimisation!

Hi all Optimisation phase of any project is ultimately a very exciting stage, as it means the company has gathered most of the inputs for the Feasibility study and they are on the last slog to maximise economic performance. So it is a really important stage so deserves to be under its own subject he...
