This link briefly discusses orogenic gold deposits.

Gold is formed by exploding stars. Extreme energy required. My mind exploded when I heard about it.

From this image of 650m years ago Australia can be seen to be attached to Northern China in the Northern Hemisphere.
This is the position where Havieron was being formed, all due to plate tectonic movements.
Australia ended up in the South Pole area and has been moving northeast ever since.
According to the National Geographic magazine it’s moving 2.7 inches per year, I’ve read about 40 cm per year when they recalculated the coordinates for GPS in 2020.
When Newmont/Newcrest first drilled Havieron in 1991 it’s moved over 5’.
Historical coordinates of the first drills are over 200m different to new coordinates as each State were doing there own thing. With the onset of GPS Australia had to standardise the grid and was completed in 2020 but with constant movement the coordinates will have to be updated again in time as pinpoint precision is required.

The split second after the Big Bang anti matter should have cancelled out matter but a tiny percentage of matter somehow survived.
Hydrogen and helium were 2 gases remaining continuously exploding forming new elements as this happened.
A time line between Big Bang and now atoms formed about two thirds from Big Bang. These atoms gradually formed huge stars and later turned into giant supernovas. Each supernova explosion formed different elements starting with iron.
Gold was eventually formed from the hottest of the hottest supernova explosion, the only time gold could have been formed.
The explosion sent gold all around the universe.
The earth started to form about 4.5 billion years ago and gold arrived just after in 4.3 billion years ago.
The earth being red hot the heavy molten iron gradually sunk to the core dragging other minerals with it as it cooled. This was the Hadean period.
The Archean period saw great volcanic activity bringing iron and other minerals to the surface, which is why it’s known that Archean green belts are a good place to look for gold

Brilliant knowledge. If only Gerald Ratner had known that!
