It would appear there's a consolidated effort to hit the gold stocks. Imo and I don't know a lot the likes of JPM will drive down the commodity and miners as much as they can before hopping back on board for the ride up.

Newcrest Mining Limited (OTCMKTS:NCMGF – Get Rating) saw a significant growth in short interest in June. As of June 30th, there was short interest totalling 1,103,100 shares, a growth of 31.1% from the June 15th total of 841,500 shares. Based on an average trading volume of 82,100 shares, the short-interest ratio is currently 13.4 days.

I have said this for a few weeks, - all the gold miners (inc GGP) have seen a very similar pattern in the charts.

It is very clever.

(maybe JPM) - "We will short all the gold stocks, and then short gold!". - It is bloody genius.

NCM, Barrick, and our short date, - all happening at the same time.
