Havieron value grows $1b in two months

Post by Bottle Rocket - Liam »

By Tom Parker - Australian Resources and Investments

"The Havieron joint venture gold project continues to grow in stature after Greatland Gold reported a $1 billion increase in its net-present value (NPV).

The project, which Greatland Gold (30 per cent) shares in a joint venture with Newcrest Mining (70 per cent), is now valued at $US1.2 billion ($1.74 billion) as at December 2021. Two months prior, Havieron was worth $US228 million, as per stage one of the Havieron pre-feasibility study (PFS).

The news comes after Greatland announced an updated mineral resource and ore reserve estimate in March, which defined a 53 per cent increase in total gold content when compared to the October PFS release."

This counter offer GGP made to Newcrest for the 5%, makes you wonder, did SD indirectly give an indication to Newcrest what price HAV is valved at, for them to make a bid. Am I doing overtime or something is in play indirctly. This can be detrimental to the share price, if it came known GGPs bid for 5%.
GGP would have to make a credibale bid, somewhere near what it values HAV, would it not.

Shaun stated they didn't put in their highest number just a value substantially higher than NCM's initial valuation - excerpt below from the 21st July Webinar intro.

Excerpt:
- Here is an offer, if the part, if our joint venture partner thinks it's worth less than this, we will pay you considerably more for this and I think that reflects the conviction that today is not what we regard as a true value, a true market value we would have been delighted to have transacted and acquired some of Newcrest stake for a much higher price and I think have we been successful in doing that I still think it would be absolutely compelling value for us
- we didn't put in the highest number we thought we actually put in a value where we thought it was still compelling but substantially higher than their position and our own for that matter and although I want to move on to the Q&A I do just want to wrap up around the process

A good bit of management strategy from Shaun IMO.
