Can I ask some poentially dumb questions here wihtout being ridiculed?

Post by Sargent Dome »

Hi everyone. I am fairly new to investing and very new to AIM shares. I am invested in GGP, not a huge amount by anyone's standards and I'm looking to hold for medium to long term.

Can I ask a few questions relating to gold mining and the stock market without being chastised on here? I've posted on LSE and was accused of being a 'FUDster' or 'ramper' (whatever they mean by that) so would like to try on here instead if you don't mind?

1. MRE (2) What is the MRE information formed from? Is it a combination of the ground anaylsis and core samples?
2. We have 5 billion share in circulation, why so many and who decided that amount?
3. DTM - I keep reading that we are waiting on this, but hasn't this already happened as we are currently mining towards the ore body?
4. If Newmont decide they want to buy our 30% of Havieron, can they? and is that good or bad for us in terms of share price?

Apolgies if my quesions annoy anyone, I won't ask anything else.

TIA.

Hi Sargent.

In Haste i'm afraid today.
MRE is a complicated process that builds up a 3d picture of mineable 'blocks' of ore. These are graded based on drill data to fall withn economicaly extractable ore above a certain cutoff critera in this case 1g/t.
You can select and play with the different grade shells here: https://inventum3d.com/c/greatlandgold/havieron

5billion shares is not really of any consequence. sometimes they are considered 'penny stocks' in the US to have more than 1bn sherries in issue but not in the UK - BHP i think has over 5bn shares. Sometimes companies consolidate the shares which raises the price per share but not the mcap.
DTM depends /follows the feasibility study which we are waiting for - was due October 22 but (NCM decided it was necessary to rewrite it - long story)
If Newmont were to decide to make a bid or an offer for GGP's 30% then alls well and good. They can do this (although many holders may prefer GGP to keep going) however any decisions to sell to Newmont would require a majority vote usually 75% from shareholders
